Rutin ( รูติน which is the term in Thai), or also called rutoside, quercetin-3-rutinoside, soforin or by its English name rutin, is a flavonoid of the glucoside type, also recognized as quercetin-3-rutinoside.
As we have already mentioned, it is present in many of the vegetables that we consume daily in our diet, either through apples, citrus fruits, or teas (black and green). Through enzymatic hydrolysis, it gives rise to two other elements, such as rutinose and quercetin. The first one is a disaccharide, while the second is another flavonoid.
